Life Update

Firstly I need to apologise for my lack of posts over the past few weeks, hopefully this post will explain why.

As you may know I have a boyfriend whom I live with in University halls. Just after the New Year we broke up. As you can imagine this is a really hard situation to be in. To make it even worse last week was my final week of assignment deadlines for Semester One. So you can probably guess I have a lot on my plate. I am not going to go into nitty gritty of the break up as it is personal and this blog is not somewhere I wish to publicise that sort of detail. Lucky I have a great group of friends at Uni which is making this time A LOT better for me. I am always welcome at the flats as I cannot stand to be in the flat with Ryan and it is very awkward.

I hope you all understand and I will be back blogging very soon, I am sorry if I have let you down at all. But I am greatful of any support I get.

#2014BloggerChallenge Skincare || No7 Beautiful Skin Month 2

Hello My Lovelies,

It's the second instalment in the 2014 blogger challenge and the theme is skincare, which is great because I am due to update you all on how I am getting on with the No7 Beautiful Skin Range. I hope youi will have seen my previous post explaining what and why I am doing this, but if not don't worry I will say it again but a bit briefer.

Basically I am fed up of having awful skin I am 20 this year and I really feel the need to stop the spots taking over my life! I am doing a series of three posts over three months (this being number two) to see if there is an improvement in my skin and amount of spots I am getting. I am using the No7 Beautiful Skin Range for this review.

This is what my skin was like a month or so ago.

This is it now. I have since got a better camera so please bare that in mind and I am in different lighting.

As you can see there has been little noticeable improvement. However i have seen a reduction in large surface blemishes, they now tend to not come to a head and remain under the skin which i do prefer as it prevents the temptation to squeeze and they are easier to cover up. Also I have seen a reduction in blemishes on my forehead and this is noticeable in the images. However I still have awful spots on my cheeks and chin, which is horrible. I am hoping my next month I will be able to see much more substantial changes as I am pretty disappointed so far considering these images are 6-7 weeks old. I know there is no quick fix for bad skin but I was hoping to see a better result so far. I am still using the same routine as before.

Please do not leave any negative comments as this is a big issue for me and I am self-concious about my skin but I find this the easiest way to track changes all while giving you a review.

Five Common Mascara Mistakes

Helloo My Lovelies,

We all love a good mascara, because let's be honest, it can be difficult to find the one that provides perfect length and volume. But there are ways to get the most out of a mascara just by stopping making some really

common mistakes.

Not Curling Your Lashes
Mascara can only do so much, to get that false lash effect, you will need to get your hands on an eyelash curler. I have this one from Primark and does the job perfectly. I do not really see the point in high end eyelash curlers they are identical to drug store ones. Never curl after applying mascara as this can cause breakages.

Applying Too Many Coats
Applying too many coats can cause the mascara to clump that can cause that horrible spidery look. Simply use no more than five swipes remembering to wiggle the brush as moving up the lashes. If you still have not got enough volume consider changing formula.

Pumping the Wand
When you pump the wand in and out of the tube all you are doing is adding air into the tube. This causes the product to clump and dry out, which makes the mascara flake off when it is applied to the lashes. When you want more product just put the wand in once more. If you still don't have enough you've probably ran out.

Using Expired Products

It only takes mascara three months to start growing bacteria on the wand and in the tube. This can cause red, itchy eyes and even pinkeye. You need to be especially careful with products which are so close to your eyes. I know three months seems a very short time span for a product but if you are using it everyday it soon disappears and needs replacing anyway.

Coating Just the Tips
To maximise your lashes mascara must be applied from the roots. You need to wiggle the wand as you apply it and that will give your lashes a nice extra lift.

Hope this helps.

NOTD || Topshop Stage Dive

Hello My Lovelies,

I thought I'd share my love for this colour with you, it is so bright cheery and happy. I really am enjoying Topshop Nails at the moment, I have two of the Matte ones and this one and to be honest I am defiantly going to be purchasing more of them. I really like the bottle with the polka-dot top it's really cute. The polishes are prices at £5 with is a good price for this polish. When ever I am in Topshop I feel the need to purchase more of them, they look so pretty all lined up nicely and in colour order. There is a great range of colours in brights and basic colours. Space Dive offers great opacity and you can only put one coat on and it looks fine.

I can't wait to increase my collection!

Don't forget to check out my blog sale!

Quick & Easy Recipe || Mushroom Quesadilla

Hello My Lovelies,

Today I thought I'd share with you my first recipe post, so please bare with me if it isn't too good they will get better.
This is a really quick and easy recipe. I sort of made this up a couple of months ago at University when I needed to use up some mushrooms and I didn't just want to fry them and have them on toast, so I decided to make a quesadilla. If you are under 16 please seek the supervision of an responsible adult when using the hob and sharp knife

You will need:

Sour Cream
Tortilla Wraps
Olive Oil

Large Frying Pan
Sharp Knife
Garlic Press

1. Heat a couple of teaspoons of olive oil and the crushed garlic, I like to use 2-3 cloves but I really like garlic, so you may only choose to use 1.

2. While the oil is heating finely slice the mushrooms on the chopping board using a sharp knife. Remember to take the end of the stalky bit off.

3. Now heat the mushrooms in the pan with the oil and garlic. Fry them off until they have a nice colour. Then transfer them out of the pan onto a plate or into a bowl.

4. Now place the wrap into the pan, just to crisp it slightly.

5. Add the sour cream to the wrap and spread it to an even layer.

6. Add the mushrooms to one half of the wrap.

7. Sprinkle cheese over the mushrooms and fold the wrap in half, regularly turn the wrap to make sure it is warmed full and to melt all of the cheese.

8. And serve. I like to have mine in front of toddlers and tiaras with a glass off cranberry juice.

Let me know in the comments below if you have had a good and if it was easy to follow.

December Favourites

Hello My Lovelies,

Today I thought I'd finally share with you my December favourites I know this is very late but I guess better late than never. This is a mixture of fashion, beauty and some other random bit. Hope you enjoy!

Lush Ultrabalm

Now I know I bang on about this but it really is a great product. I am currently using it for my lips as the cold weather ruins them which makes wearing lipstick impossible. I have been using it on my lips as it is for anywhere that need a bit of extra moisture as I am finding most lip balms are just full of petroleum jelly which actually makes my lips worse in the long run. The product can be used any where on the body and really does soften and moisturise. Words can't explain how much I love this. Just go out any buy it please !

Topshop Jenson Fur Collar Biker Jacket

Now I love this jacket i feel like to it really versatile also it is super warm which is surprising for a faux leather jacket. The jacket has quilted detailing and a detachable fur collar which is great. I brought this jacket for £45 which was reduced, but I don't feel like it is worth any more than than, it is just plastic at the end of the day. But never the less I love it.

Novalty Cards

This sounds really weird but recently I have been loving cards. There is a little shop in Calne, which is near where I live, called The Gift Box. It sells lots of gifty trinket bits and pieces as well as some clothing but I think the clothes are a bit mumsy. They always have lots of cards in there and they are so funny I have picked up a couple but I have sent most of them, but the one I have left is defiantly my favourite. I just think they are nice and a lot better than the standard floral blank cards you usually get.

Accessorize Necklace

Now I don't usually bother with Accessorize as I usually find it very over priced but I had been given a gift card so I had to find something. I was actually pleasantly surprised, the jewellery was all really pretty and dainty. I picked up two necklaces but this is the one I have been loving the most, I feel really classy and elegant with it one!

No7 Smoky Rose Quad

I really like this quad, you can achieve a lot of different looks with it.  I am not brave when it comes to eye make up I like to be quite safe when it comes to smoky eyes so this is a really good quad for me. I got it a couple of years ago for Christmas and have only really just started to use it. Boots still do sell i
t but it is in at different packaging and costs £10.50, which is reasonable when you get four for the price of one.

Hope you have had a lovely December and have lots of favourite products. Have you got or tried any of my favourites??

#BristolBloggerMeet 4th January 2014

Hello My Lovelies,

Hope 2014 is treating you well so far! As you may have been aware Beky and myself organised a Beauty Blogger Event. It too place on Saturday 4th January and I think it was a huge success. Thirteen of us meet up in Bristol City centre.

First we all trotted off to Lush on Broadmead where we had a 'Lush Experience'. We were shown some Bath Bomb Cocktails, a couple of ballistics and bubble bars mixed together. As part of the experience we were also given arm massages with massage bars and talked through all of the fresh face masks and able to try them out. We spent about an hour there. I picked up a new Cupcake Fresh Face Mask, a tiny Charity Pot Hand & Body Lotion and Sparkle Toothy Tabs. We also got a goody bag there which had a sample of Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser, Toothy Tabs, Ickle Baby Bot Bath Ballistic, Noriko Soap and Soft Coeur (The Honeymooner) Massage Bar. This is an amazing lot of freebies and I would like to say a huge thank you to all he staff in Lush that looked after us they were so chatty and helpful to explain all the products and give demonstrations and also for our goodie bags which were amazing.

After Lush we all separated and went do do a bit of shopping in the sales and some food, eight of use went to Frankie & Benny's and it was lovely and super tasty. After Frankie & Benny's we all meet up again and distributed the goodie bags myself and Beky had put together and spontaneously moved onto Debanhams to pay a quick visit to the Mac counter. I picked up Mac Cream Sheen Lipstick in Hot Gossip its a lovely natural pinky nude.

Finally we moved onto Benefit in Boots on Broadmead, where we were to have a make up lesson/chat with Benebabe Ashton. She really was a total babe, Ashton had organised a little set up in the staff room for us with cakes and drinks, all themed pink, she put so much effort in to make Benefit part of the day so special which it really was. We had a demonstration of most of Benefits popular products. She talked us through the products, Ashton really knew her stuff and was really friendly and bubbly. After the demo we went downstairs to purchase some products and get some goodie bags again thank you Ashton for sorting them out they were amazing. If you want to follow Ashton her twitter is @AshtonLewsey and her Instagram is AshtonLewsey.

Here are the items from the goodie bag Beky and I put together.

Full sized Nair product, St Moriz Self-tan Lotion and Peal Whites Toothpaste

Braw Gluten-free Snack Bar and Neil & Wolf Daily Cleansing Shampoo and Conditioner

Batiste Dry Shampoo, Benefit Pore Professional and Pearlys Weekly Teeth-Brighten Powder.

Thank you all for coming and Beky and I are hoping to organise a larger scale event in the summertime but hire a venue. New Years Inspiration #2014BloggerChallenge

Helloooo My Lovelies,

I hope you are all having a wonderful magical New Year and a well. I am so sorry that this post is late, but I have been very hectic and stressed recently but fingers crossed I am back on track. Thank you to the handful of you who have been asking where I am and if I am okay, you are amazing!

Today is the first post of the 2014 Blogger Challenge. I can't believe it is here already! I told you about the challenge back in November but for those of you who didn't see that post I will explain the Challenge again. The challenge originated with AnotherGirlyBlog, the idea is that twice a month I will receive a theme or topic on anything from beauty to cooking. This is a great concept as it mean I can going to get to write about themes or topics I wouldn't usually consider.

The first topic of the #2014BloggerChallenge is a twist on a New Years Resolution, 'New Years Inspiration' - the idea is to write about an image or quote that will inspire you throughout 2014.

I actually found this topic rather hard to write about without being cliché and cringe. But anyway I have got a couple of images and quotes to inspire me, sorry if they are cringe!

This image is my health motivation image for 2014. I am aiming to loss a stone over the year, this is so achievable but I don't want to just lose weight, I want to lose fat and tone muscles and achieve an active balanced healthy lifestyle. I am so motivated to do this. Over the past year and a half I have really let my fitness and health slip. I think this is mainly due moving to university, which means alcohol and ready meals. I do think that these rules are very easy to stick by, please remind me of this in a months time. I think that these rules are not only going to help with my fitness and health but other life aspects such as sleepiness because I find that junk food and sugary foods and drink really make me tired very quickly. Also drinking plenty of water and eating better is hopefully going to improve my skin because it is at its worse at the moment and turning 20 this year I feel as if I really need to sort my skin out because I do not want it to continue like this for much longer. So 2014 is going to be a year full of health and good habits for lifestyle.

I would love you all to try and keep me on track with this because help and support from friends, family and peers really can help you to achieve your goals and this year mine is to get healthy! So please tweet me or comment on posts asking how I am getting on!

Quickly on another note I want to say that over the past month or so I have started to think of things in a much more positive way. And it has helped me to see that every cloud has a silver lining. So I know I might not be a very inspirational person but just think of how lucky you really are when things seem bad.
